The Head of Taiwan Provincial Consultative Council speaks in National Conference of State Logistations in 2007

During the nostalgic tour with Provincial Councilors at Taiwan Provincial Consultative Council on the 30th of April, 2003, President Chen Shui-Bian made a statement to expect a more democratic society. The statement is as follows:

Taiwan Provincial Consultative Council is the most harmonious legislative agency in Taiwan where there is no faction and all the councilors worked hard to serve the public. They endeavored to interrogate during sessions never made personal attacks.

Our council reflects public opinions, and it is believed that the process of democracy should ensure those with decision-making power to participate in the political process with effective opportunities, and have equal rights to choose topics for discussion and to control the agenda.
